Orchid Board rocks.

Yes, it is possible to find answers if you research enough. But some of us (read me) still seem to be technically challenged. Still find it somewhat frustrating at times trying to find information, then filter it down to just what specifics I am looking for, then try to interpret the data to fit how it applys to my need...and still coming up with a big HUH???

Even when you can research something easily, there is nothing like feeling comfortable enough to be able ask even the most elementary question and being able to get an answer that you can understand, offered in a friendly manner. Plus you have the added bonus of that human contact with people that you have come to know as friends.

Research may produce information, but it does not foster friendships.

Don't confuse the lack of bickering with the lack of opinions being expressed. Everyone on OB just knows what the limits are and we all respect each other's opinions whether we agree or disagree.

...that's why I love this place

Pretty simple, but so true. It's a shame some haven't figured this out. I feel sorry for them.

I am guilty, at times, of letting my ego show. But you all are nice to me anyways. I love this place too!

I also agree with bellini girl - Since joining, my orchids have never looked better (or more crowded). I don't really need another reason to love it here. But kind words and a sense of community are icing on the cake! Plus, some of you are just so darn funny!

I agree. I also love OB because it's the perfect mix of seriousness and 'rolling on the floor laughing til your stomach hurts' funniness!

I'm just glad I found the OB first! If I'd have been 'dressed down' early on I may not have continued on to see this hobby progress to an addiction! Just think of all the greenhouses that would have gone out of business!

I'll still do my own research and even cruise other places for info, bu the OB is my home, too, and I'll always add more weight to the answers I receive here. I've met some really nice folks on the OB and Chat and have gotten some terrific guidance. Don't believe it? Just look at the 'chids I have in bloom my very first summer!

Thanks to all, and I'm glad now I started this post.
