The classifieds are really meant for one item per sale. I know if you have 20 plants for sale, it's much easier to actually list all 20 as a list in one ad, but that leaves the problems above with feedback (only one can be left), and if a member commits to purchase and presses "commit to buy", listing 20 plants will no longer matter as the ad will be closed. I urge everyone to list one item per ad, this way all of the above will be addressed and at the same time members will enjoy looking through the ads with photos much more then viewing one ad with 20 bullet points.

I guess I have the same question as Vmax.
I am new here (but I really like it) and I am sorry if I did my ads incorrectly. I was using my experience on eBay as a guide. I know I dislike going through pages and pages of duplicate items. I thought it might be better to put my identical plants all in the same ad.
True, I did have to restart the ad when one person clicked on the 'commit to buy' button, but that only happened once - out of all my sales. All the others just PM'd me and we worked it out ourselves. I created the identical ads, after the sale, as a way of allowing both of us to use the feedback system while not cluttering up the classified ads. I apologize again if that was not correct, but it sure seemed to work and both partners in the transaction were served well, I thought.
I agree that one ad with lots of different plants would not attract my attention. I would not want to have to look them all up to see if I was interested.

No need for apologies
We all learn something new here on a constant basis. One of the things I've learned is that there are some glitches in any forum software that even our Marty can't get around
Our software does not allow for individual feedback in an ad that has multiple items listed. Believe me...if there were any way to get it accomplished, we'd have it already

OK, It's June and the May sale is over. Do we have a tally or a total of transactions? Just curious how it went.
I didn't get any ads posted in May, but it got me in the spirit. I posted my first few ads. I guess that was the point, to get people to use the classifieds. Worked for me, I bought tons of stuff. Now I gotta sell a few just to make room!

Royal - Why not just add an extension to your living quarters
There hasn't been a tally done that I am aware of but
you are more than welcome to figure it out

I'd love to build living quarters for my orchids, but evidently my wife thinks some things are more important, like leveling the house, and having functional doors. Picky, picky.

Marty probably has a way of coming up with that number but I don't think he's around for a few days.

Not sure the tally myself, but looks like since the beginning of May we had around 200 classified ads posted. This is great, as never before did we see this level of marketplace activity. I'm not sure how many were sold, because some ads are pending deals and some were closed because of deals over PMs so it's hard to tell.
I encourage everyone to keep using the classifieds. We have a great community here with tons of members and visitors. This exposes your ads to a a very specific target audience, which makes for an increased chance of sale.
Members selling divisions and extra plants to other members/hobbyists makes for great deals too!
