Default login issues

Not really a huge issue, but when I login, it takes me back to the main page and says guest visitor and asks me to login again - it will keep doing this unless I pick a link such as 'forum' and then it will take me there and I will be logged in. Strange, but not too much of a hassle.

It's been doing that to me ever since I joined. Don't know if it's by design or glitch.

Try deleting all your temp files and cookies, doing a disk defrag and restart. . .

Fixes it for me. . .hope it will work for you two.

Ahahaha - should I just reformat my partition and reinstall the OS as well?!

Joking, but actually I setup my browser so it deletes all cookies/temp files every time I close it.... defrag I haven't done in a few weeks, but that should have absolutely nothing to do with this issue. However, it does help with the efficient retrieval of data from the hdd's - so it is highly suggested to do often as possible!

Restart might be in order as well, haven't done that in probably a few weeks, and we all know how Windows acts up when it's been running a while! Actually with Windows a reinstall is usually pertinent every month! Exaggeration, but still remotely true...

Thanks for the tips!

Definitely glitch, it's been doing it for a few weeks now... just started getting on my nerves today though! Thought maybe it would be an easy fix for the forum admin.

Tried that numerous times - no big deal for me, just know to expect it. Having said that, I don't have this problem on other boards that appear to be using the same software as this board ...

Here's what you do and tell me if that fixes the problem

- Log OUT
- Empty your browser cache and cookies,
- then go to http://www.orchidboard.com/community and log in with your user/pass

For login purposes it's important that you type in the "www" in orchidboard. People usually have orchidboard.com in their bookmark (without the 'www') but they're logged in on www.orchidboard.com, so then you have to press a link somewhere until you're brought into the "www."orchidboard.com

it's confusing how cookies work, but this should fix it for you. Remember the "www" are important.
