I just received this message from Jim at Marlows Orchids:
Update on the future of Marlow Orchids

It has been a while since I have updated everyone and I know that many of you are wondering what is happening with Marlow Orchids. I have spent several weeks working with the bank and trying to figure out a way forward for Marlow Orchids. Unfortunately at the end of the day, we have been unable to reach an agreement and the financing needed to continue. At this time, I have made the decision to close the operations and move forward with another opportunity in the orchid world. I am in the final steps of accepting a position and moving to California to work for Andy’s Orchids.

As for the funds that were raised, I will be refunding each contributor the amount they have contributed to the campaign. I do need each of you to send me a direct email with your contact information, email and mailing addresses, as GFM does not provide those to me. For those that are still interested in the plant rewards, there is that option, but it’ll have to be on a case by case basis, which we can discuss individually. For any unclaimed contributions they will be donated to the Orchid Conservation Alliance to help protect the natural habitats where orchids live.

I know and feel each of your disappointments. I am as well disappointed, but remain hopeful and positive for the future. I cannot state my deepest gratitudes enough for all of your support and belief in me. I am walking away knowing that I have tried everything possible, with the support of the best customers and friends one person can ever hope to have!

Thank you and please don’t forget to send me your information so I can refund you as quickly as possible.

Property and Business
The property and the business are both for sale either as one or as separate entities for anyone possibly interested. Please contact us separately for details.

Items still available
There are many items still available for sale. I will work to keep the website up to date over the coming weeks as we move closer to stopping operations. We will be having at least one final "Open House", likely in early June. Starting next Wednesday, for those of you in the area, the nursery will be open through Saturday 10am - 4pm.

Thanks you again for all of your support in this endeavor and over the years!

Happy Growing!
Jonathan

Yes, got that email yesterday. I'm glad to see he's refunding the money that was Go-Funded or however it was done. Kudos to him for doing so!

I'm glad that Jonathan has an opportunity at Andy's. He'll be a huge asset to Andy, who I hope appreciates him properly.

I never had wet hair freeze on my head in San Diego.
