Well it looks as if you have plenty of space available. I have kitchen windows, bay with SE, S, SW exposure. Our formal dining room is not so formal, neither am I lol, I have my Neofinetia in that room on a bakers rack in a north facing window with T5 ho lights on 4 shelves. I have a 5 shelf greenhouse/grow tent thing in this room as well in a window with T5s and a fan. There is a table with my few large orchids and CFL light. I’m adding a shelf to our living room this weekend, LOL without any complaints, there are east windows and a huge northern facing window there, I’m adding lights.

I may be at my limit here. Plenty of other rooms plus our basement though our son occupies that area. I have to leave some form of normalcy within our home and I respect that. I just keep squeezing them in where I can!

I got all my orchids inside. It took several hours to get them into their winter home! Glad that is done. Now I have to re-orient myself to do a lot of watering in doors. When these were outside, it took me about 45 minutes.

Inside, I have to be careful and not get the furniture and other stuff wet.

I’ll bet you’re glad that is finished. Do you treat for insects, ever have problems with them while growing outdoors? Watering will take you all day now! It takes me hours but I’m always checking plants over and taking pictures:/ If I grew them outside it would still be a slow process to water as our well water is freezing cold. I would have to haul water outside or hook a hose to the kitchen faucet and run it through the kitchen and breakfast area.

I do have a few other plants to bring inside today, supposed to be 36 tonight!

I am glad I got the tropical orchids inside and in their place.

Two weeks ago, I applied a systemic that affects scale and mealy bugs. Early yesterday morning, I did the same and allowed all of the plants to dry out. Then around 7pm, I started bringing them in and placing them in their winter home.

Even with all that, I had house flys and moths hiding in the foliage. So I spent a little time, eradicating those insects. I did find several lady bugs, gathered them and put them outside. I had one spider that I put outside.

This is the first time in a long time that mother nature gave me two weeks of very warm weather to get my plants inside. In the past, one day it was nice and warm, the next day the temperatures dropped to below 40F.
