Habenaria radiata tubers arrived from Kusamono Gardens

They look nice and healthy. I don't see any reason not to fertilize along with your other orchids at this point.

Here are my two pots. The one on the right, with the ginja leaves, has been inside in my garage, but is now in the house in a sunny window. The other has been outside all winter. My medium is a mix of succulent mix and about 1/4 sphagnum broken up. I did put a bit of osmocote in the pots too. I'm aiming for bigger tubers this year, as most of mine were pretty small compared to the originals. This pic was taken 10 days ago, so they have grown a bit now.

Mine as of today. I think I compacted the perlite and the plants started pushing up. I could see the bulbs and roots. I added a top dressing of more perlite and sphagnum. They grow fast and if I get these to overwinter I'm going to go with max 50% perlite - a lesson learned.
I also added osmocote.
At around 6in tall.

13 days after previous photo. i'm not growing them in full sun. It's already near or over 90 F / 32C most days, and relative humidity is at or below 10%. I will soon bring them into the sunroom, when night temperatures start to climb. And no, I don't grow them on my truck bumper.

It'll be interesting to see if 1) they can handle that heat long term and 2) whether the early and consistent heat speeds up the lifecycle.

The sunroom is around 80 F / 26C day and night during the high heat with the evaporative cooler blowing. I will put the egret flowers next to the window with the cooled air blowing on them. They will get several hours of morning sun.

I've applied a light mulch of pine needles and other stuff scrounged from under a pine/conifer tree. We'll see if it helps. Plants growing a 4th leaf.
