My Dove Orchid Is In Bloom
My Peristeria elata is finally in bloom. The total height of the flower stem is more than 3 feet tall. I received this plant a few years ago from an auction at one of our society meetings. I did not know at that time what I was bidding on. I'm glad I won the bid. The plant is growing in bark in a 6-inch plastic pot. The flowers are very fragrant.

I'm a small backyard grower in a residential area overlooking Pearl Harbor. I barely have enough yard space to keep my orchids happy. Most of the photographs that I post on this Board are of plants that I raised and bloomed. My best friends are orchid people.
