Ancistrochilus rothschildianus
This is the second blooming for me. I thought I posted the first time but couldn't find the thread.

I had no idea what this orchid was before I opened the post. It looks cool, read that it has a citrus fragrance with fishy undernotes!

Thanks for looking!
It's hayfever season so I'm not sure how accurate my nose is but I'm not getting fishy citrus. Maybe dog breath when I have my nose up close.

Great plant!! Don't enter it into a show and get ribbon or it will die. I've killed 2 by doing that.
Working on my 3rd...it's doing great and if it dies I'll buy another because they really are cool. Good growing!!
FWIW - I don't remember any fishy smell...or any smell, really.

No worries, no shows for this.
I didn't photograph it (spike too long) but it has Hersey's Kiss shaped pbulbs.
FWIW, it grows in S/H.

Yea, the bulbs are really cool looking. Wrap them in foil and they could be mistaken for Kisses.
How long have you been growing it in s/h? During the dormant period, do you give it any water at all in that set up?
