Help! I just received my orchid Italica seeds in the mail today and i have no idea how to plant them!! do I used the same course type potting material i use for my cattleya orchids? Please get back to me soon! i am very anxious to get these growing!
If you bought them online (Ebay or something similar) there is a 99.99% chance that the best place to "plant" them is the closest trash can. "Orchid seeds" for some reason are a popular scam online now. If you are in the lucky 0.01% that actually received orchid seeds, you need to send them to a flasking lab. Look up Rockbridge Labs in Ohio.
Easy way to tell if they are orchid seeds. Do they look more or less like fibrous dust? Those may be orchid seeds. Do they look at all like conventional seeds? Definitely not orchids.
Did you order from a foreign vendor? Perhaps one in China? If so I have bad news and good news. The bad news is you broke the law getting the seeds. The good news is they aren't orchid seeds.
