I have a Q for you. This past spring I got a H. carnea tuber. Potted it up in sphag and it sprouted fine. It did spike but aborted the buds long before opening. (Not sure what the problem was but I know the media did dry out once so that might be the reason.)
Anyhow, it has yet to go dormant. Should I be concerned?
It is in my living room in front of sliding glass doors with SE exposure. I have been keeping it moist but not flooded. Temps have been staying in the 70s or a bit higher (having an unusually warm fall). The distal third of the leaves are browned out, but that could perhaps be due to the more arid conditions now that the place is closed up and the heater is in use now and then.
My habeneria medusa are blooming now -2/3- and are in similar conditions to yours. I'm not concerned as they will naturally go dormant once finished blooming. Maybe yours is still in the cycle even though spike aborted.
