After so many years old, getting information about Oberonia is still very difficult. Even on Facebook very little mention of this plant.

I have been interested in Oberonia as well. I see Andy's has the japonica listed, I am tempted to order one. I have also found several other Oberonia listed on Louisiana Orchid Connection. I imagine you could email John with your questions, he is always extremely helpful. I notice LOC has some Oberonia on eBay.
Happy hunting!

There is a dedicated FB group, Alumni Oberonia. Please join us!
Pattywack: Note that LOC has some true O. lycopodiodes (with sessile flowers, perianth of flowers touching each other) and misIDed O. padangensis (with pedicelled flowers, scattered on inflorescence) labeled O. lycopodioides. No idea what their O. merrillii is. Bought it anyway.

Thank you. I did look on Facebook for any groups, but I could only find threads that discussed Oberonia. Thank you for the correct name: Alumni Oberonia. Why is the first name?

Thanks Patty, I see Andy's listing, he has two different kinds. I am going to order Oberonia japonica and the other one.
I am familiar with LA Orchid Connection. I have bought a couple of his Furan hybrids.

Alumnus, plural alumni, is just saying people associated with Oberonia. No first name, really.
Andy has several species, just looked and there are four. He may have additional ones, such as O. punctata (= his "oligotricha"), O. longirepens, O. cylindrica, O. mucronata, O. ensiformis (some as "iridifolia"). His "cavaleriei (aff. myosurus)" is straight cavaleriei. Send him an e-mail to ask for other species available.

P.S. please note that ~80% of IDs of Oberonia in the trade are wrong. And that does not include the Oberonia sp., which are technically not "wrong". Andy's O. japonica and O. leytensis are correct.
