I've had this plant in my cool tank for about 4 years. It blooms late winter to early spring. Flowers are same size as M. decoratum but the color combo is red body and green tips, instead of orange with yellow tips... The growth is also different with one single 3 cm leaf instead of the tri-helicopter type leaves of the decoratum. I just think it's adorable. Last year it produced a seed pod without my intervention and I'm not sure what pollinated it... I'm pretty sure the fungus gnats are too small to do that...

Thanks Matt and DisaLover. I hope the seed pod will germinate at my buddy's as he froze it for 6 months while he sets up his sowing lab. I will try to pollinate it myself this season and try to make more to distribute. I'll update on this post.

Thanks Tommy... I think what triggers the blooming is when the low winter sun hits the tank... Normally no sun ever touches them until the 3 months in winter when the earth tilts to let the sun rays kiss the plants lol

This is different, love the bloom. Another one for my want list! I like the way it grows. Nice.

Love the color combination. As long as you're pollinating, make the cross with decoratum while you're at it.
