Diuris magnifica
Default Diuris magnifica

I bought this in a group order with other members of this forum back in 2013. Last winter was its first season of growth for me. It grew two grass-like leaves but no flowers. It rested bone dry all summer and was watered again in October. This is its first bloom for me. The blooms have a velvety texture but no fragrance.

Beautiful little flower! How long does the bloom last? Imagine it would be quite a sight with a pot full of them.

Thanks! Don't know about the longevity yet since this just opened yesterday and it's my first time with this species.

Self pollinate one of the flowers and sow the seeds? it is a beauty!

I was looking over my flasks yesterday and know I had Diuris in the bunch, what I didn't realize is that one of the flasks was of Diuris magnifica! Now I know what I get to look forward to when they flower.

Wonderful growing! Are you using seramis or something similar? How much light do you give?
