I love these too! I have one and I believe it is close to blooming. I grow mine indoors, mounted. It is in a small terrarium. Such unusual blooms. Thanks for the pictures, love it.

Very nice! I love this species but killed my first, I think by letting it dry out too much. Now have a new piece of a nice clone, seeing how happy yours looks makes me think I should try a cool log type setup as well.

Do you grow Ornithidium (Maxillaria) sophronitis? Seems to like similar conditions, I killed several before I figured out I should keep it wet ALL the time...

Nat I do not have Ornithidium sophronitis, didn't even know this one till you mentioned it here, nice, this one says warmer growing so I am sure it will grow excellent on the same kool log for sure!

I have Ornithidium sophronitis. Based on what I've read above, I'm going to try giving it more water in an attempt to keep it more moist as it does dry out daily.

I have read that it is difficult for it to produce a multitude of flowers. Mine flower but usually only one or two blooms.

I'm growing it in a 6" tree fern pot that sits in a saucer of water. I hope that eventually the vining growth will cover the pot.

This one has been on my list for a while now. Seattle Orchid just got some in but I am afraid to order right now as the weather just keeps getting cold than warmer then cold again.

I think I will get mine potted as I don't think I could keep it wet enough mounted. I love the mounts just don't think they would work for me.
