Ancistrochilus rothschildianus
This is a semi-terrestrial orchid endemic to west Africa. For me, it is a very difficult and slow grower. The plant is currently in a 2-inch clay pot with New Zealand Sphagnum Moss as the media. In the photo below, the 2-inch clay pot is sitting in a 2-1/2 inch pot for stability. The flower measures 2-1/2 inches across from the tips of the petals.

I'm a small backyard grower in a residential area overlooking Pearl Harbor. I barely have enough yard space to keep my orchids happy. Most of the photographs that I post on this Board are of plants that I raised and bloomed. My best friends are orchid people.
