Oberonia myosurus culture?

Re O. cavaleriei, the longer I have them, the less I like them mounted. Unless you have really high humidity (>85% all the time), it will not do well. I recently took some mounted specimens off, and potted them into fine bark. Only in my high humidity terrarium, the mounted specimens do well.

Re Louisiana Orchid Vendor, they mount everything on wood planks. I think this is the least favorable for Oberonia. Oberonia like to have a medium where the roots can penetrate into. For mounts, that is tree fern, highly structured bark, rolled up coco-fibers (as aaorchids does), or a generous pad of sphagnum on a stick.

Just got 8 plants from Louisiana, and will re-mount all of them. The mounts look very fresh, so not too much harm of re-mounting them. However, Oberonia in general do not like to be handled. Also resist the desire of dividing them. It may cause all divisions to die.

All of my Oberonia (6 of them) come from Louisiana. I really like them hanging--less shelf space. But considering your suggestion I am considering your id q of adding sphagnum moss to the mount to help main humidity.
