Default Platanthera ciliaris help with info pls

OK, i got some, tubers are supposedly dormant, but they have roots and there is new growth. By research I found that this is normal dormant stage and the growth will be dormant as the rest, and than it will start growing from this new growth in spring. I did pot into suggested mix sand, peat moss and perlite. I will keep in the pot through out the winter, but I can not find how to water these dormant tubers at this time, I know this is bog orchid and loves moist during active growth, so I will treat it as my Habenaria repens, but I can not find the info on dormant tubers. Many thanks for any tips.

Platanthera can be kept wet year round. They're basically like Spiranthes for me. Keep `em wet and in bright sun and you can't go wrong.

So many thanks Subrosa, so even in this "dormant" stage I should still water the pot and keep medium wet, right? They will not grow now, but they will start to grow in the early spring? I red somewhere some people put them to fridge, but I do assume since they are found in Orlando in wild, they should be just fine left outside in Miami through out the winter and this should be cold enough for them to bloom next season? So many thanks for the info, appreciated!

I would definitely keep it moist. I wouldn't know about dormancy requirements in regards to warm climates. Not a problem for me here in PA!

Thanks a bunch. Will keep it moist and outside and we shall see. If it can grow in Orlando, it should grow in Miami too :-)

Dormancy should not be dry, but should not be wet. If you have the northern population of Platanthera ciliaris, you should refrigerate them during dormancy.

Thanks Philip, they are outside, we have extreme weather in Florida this year, already went through 3 cold fronts and another one on the way, nights are in low 60, even high 50, beginning of November was even under 50, so I am sure it is enjoying it outside. Will see ;-)
