Hmmmm very interesting. I'm going to move some of the divisions a bit farther back from my window, then. For science!

Thanks!

Lovely blooms!!!

Love the pings! My pings takes tap water very well. I have never repotted it yet since I got them in 2013, but I know it is in some bark media. So even if it sits in water, there is good airflow in the root area, and it prefers low light in my area.

I got my ping in early May, so not that long, but it has since gotten doubled in size and now in bloom!

I have mine at south window with sheer curtain drawn. So it gets bright light.
I water it with tap water, but city water here is quite low in TDS I believe.
It is planted in some sort of dark stuff, I think regular potting mix with heavy dose of peat.

Regarding lake water, wouldn't it be much higher in TDS compared to rain water?
Rain water might have some dissolved nitrogen from the air and whatever else pollutant along the way down.
Lake water might have lots more "nutrients" plus some chemicals (it be industrial or pharmaceuticals).

I'm just generalizing. I do not know how the water is in Lake Michigan.

Nice flowers! But, while I could be wrong, I don't think it is ehlersiae -- the flower does not look quite right.

I need to get one of these! I've had great luck growing fly traps and sundews, its so exciting to see the flower spikes shoot up from the middle.
