Cynorkis guttata - amazing terrestrial! Male
Default Cynorkis guttata - amazing terrestrial!

Cynorkis guttata is a new species described in 2007. This is amazing terrestrial orchid with bright two-tone colors. Plant dies back after flowering. Later, lush new growths come up quickly and put out an erect spike with a large umbel-like head of many beautiful good-size flowers which are light pink with red dots and bright red centers. I love the growing habit, and the fact it can send spike at any time a year. PLUS, it reminds me the European terrestrials like Orchis, which is my top favorite! It is absolutely stunning and definitely my favorite terrestrial I own! Very light flower scent!

many thanks Shannon, that's pretty much my thing, I love all orchids, but I am really not as much into most common ones as much as I am into weird, fuzzy, creepy looking, strange appearing beauties from all around the world:-) Love terrestrials, love miniatures, and everything unusual for sure:-) But as I said, all the orchids are beautiful and If I could (and hopefully one day I will be able), I will grow at least 1000:-) That will come with house and huge garden and trees and orchid house:-)))
