Spathoglottis plicata 'sorbet'

Really quite pretty I think. This one I bought at an auction for $8.00 and it was full of scale etc...Happy and pest free now I hope. Never thought I'd own a Spathoglottis...but I'm discovering I may want a few more in looking at the other threads in this section. Do they hate to be disturbed...ie repotted or divided - anyone know? I was thinking of giving a few pieces to my friends.

Brenda, I think as long as you stick to the old standard of 3 old growths and one new one, they'll be fine.

In nature, they can form huge clumps.

They're pretty hardy. There's a reason why they're pan-tropical "weeds". They like moist places, moderate indirect light, and intermediate to warm temperatures.

When I was on the island of Dominica, I was introduced to patches of them growing between rock crevices at the base of a collapsed waterfall.

I have some pet rats and they run rampant over my orchids. They have disturbed my spath. Grape Swirl many times. The more leaves that get eaten, the more that come back.

Thanks all and thanks for the culture information guys. I had someone on another forum suggest that this may not be a species due to the coloring of it. Will go with what the tag says...but also have in mind that it may not in fact be species.
