I don't have this particular one but I do have Oberonia toppingii and rufilabris. The toppingii blooms for me late summer and is reddish/orange in color. 3 spikes this time. The rufilabris I just picked up in Sept. it had just finished blooming so not quite sure of color. Pictures I've seen almost appear to have some brown tones in it.

It's in a bright situation, but is shaded by being mounted to the underside of a piece of wood. I've only had it a few months, but it's definitely growing.
It could be that mine is a different species. I don't think he has any of the oligo listed right now. ???

Thanks for the info on how you're growing it (same or not)...I've suspected my issues might be humidity related. Maybe? Mine is growing but the growths don't look healthy. It almost looks beat up and the new growths keep getting stuck in the other foliage. [if that makes sense] ?? If it's a humidity issue then it'll either stay ugly or I'll get tired of messing w/it and it'll go away.

A bit of research apparently rules out oligotricha. That species is endemic to New Guinea and Andy's lists the Phillipines as the country of origin for the braided.

I'm growing setigera in a short 2" clay pot (not the standard height kind)...a couple of small pieces of cork in the bottom and topped w/sphag. Med-bright light. I water it just about every day in the Summer and a couple of times a week in the Winter. It's definitely dry (Summer and Winter) between waterings.

My humidity swings from the single digits up to very humid...just depends on the time of the year. Most orchids do fine under my conditions and I do my best to avoid those that do require constant high humidity.

And, don't worry about the other one dying...before it gets that bad, I'll likely give it to one of my orchids friends who might do a better job of making it happy.

That rat-tail reminds me of the spikes of a Dendrochilum ... albeit a hairy one.

Never seen this one before. How big is the plant?
