Well, at least now you know and I'm sure whatever roots start growing now will adapt to the new media you will be using. Since it doesn't have many good ones at the moment I would mist the plant and air roots whenever you get the chance. I'm sure putting it on a humidity tray will help a lot as well.

Everyone must be busy or shopping today. I had to think for myself and since only the top roots were alive which get air I decided that the orchid was too wet. The bark had really gotten down to "peat moss"! I guess I can't go buy the 2 year rule of thumb in low himidity since I was more often. Anyhow I split this Blc. and used only bark, charcoal, cork and clay balls. I will give one to a friend once I know its going to make it. Here they are. The good thing is that I found others with the same bark which were in dyer need of repotting, will have to go to probably Home Depot to get more stuff if they have it, Lowes does but they closed here in Denver.

Thanks, I just misted it, great minds think alike. I even put a container of water under where it is so I don't have to go to the kitchen when the tray is getting dry. I will mist as you suggested. I am so glad I put a pic of this on the orchid board, I actually thought this orchid had crinkled leaves! I have had it 2 years, they were crinkled when I got it and as you see they still are!
