Elleanthus fractiflexus
A tiny grass-like plant with rather inconspicious flowers, especially when compared with other very showy Elleanthus species and related Sobralias. Its natural habitat are montane forests at an elevation of 1400-1550 meters in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. The sequentially opening flowers approach almost 3 mm, so taking a photo in good focus is not the easiest job.

That is a large specimen. I love the way the tips of the leaves produce the blooms.

It certainly looks like a grass, even the flowers look like grass inflorescenses. If I had been walking in its natural habitat, I would have passed right over it thinking it was a grass. Amazing.
