Mine is sending out 5 spikes. Mine seems to thrive on neglect. I often forget to water it. I had it in my office for 22 years and never repotted it. When I retired a year or so ago I brought it home and repotted in the same pot. It's getting very bright light from the window and 50%RH on a good day.

When you repot it, try a wide shallow pot. Mine is in the base of a large plastic pot that I cut off, about 10 inches across and 2 inches deep.

ok...currently i have 1 in a 5" terracotta as test (slow growing) and another baby ludisia in 3" plastic pot -- since it's really cold here (NYC) should i wait to do the repot?

I would repot after they finish spiking, unless they haven't put out any buds.
