Ludisia discolor

What are your growing conditions for this one? I'm really thinking about it for next year... I'm done spending on plants this year, but next year I think will be the year of foliage.

I expect I will have plant shelving and lights by next winter, so window sill growing might not matter so much. LOL!

Constant moisture, at least 50% humidity, low light (no sunlight).
However, others keep it better than I under brighter and dryier conditions.

I would say don't pay a lot for one, RG. They really do grow like weeds for most folks. At my old os, members would often donate rooted plants to the society auction. Ludisia was so terribly common amongst os members that it was usually difficult to get more than a couple bucks for a multigrowth plant. (As a result, Ludisia often became a welcome gift to any meeting visitors.)

Thanks for the tip Paul! Out local OS meeting is next week and I plan to be there. Maybe I will get lucky?

I was noticing that sometimes kudus is discolor costs a lot from certain places, but it seems like lots of people have them. Maybe I can get my hands on a one from someone locally. I would like that, a plant already acclimated to our conditions would be so nice!

So agreed Kevin, mini tiny flowers are off the hook, and when macro pics are made, they look stunning, just check the lepanthopsis pictures, such a cute blooms!

When mine was on a windowsill, it grew like a weed and always bloomed at Christmas. Now that I've given it "better" conditions in the greenhouse, it looks worse and hardly ever flowers ... I think Ludisia was my 2nd orchid.

There are some really wild-looking Ludisia clones in the market over the last few years, even one that's (lightly) fragrant.
