Habenaria repens
This is a true aquatic orchid. A US native it grows on the water in floating mats. Impossible to overwater, obviously. I grow mine in a deep saucer with sphagnum and penyworts.

OMG Kevin you will really kill me! I was thinking just few days ago if there are actually any orchids growing in the water! I want one! Are these easy to grow? And what are light requirements?

I have found it easy to grow. I grow it bog like conditions, which mean it is literally in standing water. Full sun. it smells like vanilla at night.

Kevin, that is very cool! I also did not know that there were any truly aquatic orchids.
Looked this up on Welcome to the PLANTS Database | USDA PLANTS, it seems like a common, but hard to see, species in Georgia. I will keep an eye out for it when I'm in the boggy areas of south Georgia, at least so I can see it in the wild.
Might be one of those things I can try to grow from seed one day!
