Dtps. Joy Green Bee, need some advice! Male
Default Dtps. Joy Green Bee, need some advice!

Hey experts! I have had this Dtps for over two years. It kinda grows but never looks all that healthy, has fantastic roots though! I would say the leaves are soft and leathery and some have a grayish tone to them. Never has bloomed and I am treating it as a phal. Its in a phal mixture with spaghum (sp?) moss, bark, cork and charcoal. Doesn't dry out as fast as I would maybe like it too. Any advice on this? It gets very bright light all day as its under a flat roof skylight which is huge, no sun. My Phals do excellent in this light and are together with this orchid.

It looks very healthy and the color of the leaves indicates that it's getting plenty of light. I don't see any reason that it wouldn't bloom. The only suggestion I have is, in the fall, when growth slows, decrease the nitrogen by fertilizing less often and with a weaker mixture. Some orchids won't flower if they get too much nitrogen.
