Default Malaxis latifolia

It is a widespread spcies form east Asia, including our country. However, i have never seen this species in the wild yet. We call it the cat-tail orchid here.

I got a plant of this from Cal-Orchids several years ago. Each year it makes a little offset bulb, and somehow they find their way out of that pot and into another, nearby pot (without my help). Since each of those can reach flowering size in one year, I have them in about 5 or 6 pots now. Fortunately I like the plant!

Thanks for the information.
The characteristic is very like that of liparis.
The plant of this species is like some liparis as well.

OMG, amazing colour and form. The individual flowers look amazing too.

I always make up several trial versions of the poster for our society's annual March show & sale and this year for fun I used a picture of this species for one of them. I didn't think anyone but other species nuts would like it but surprisingly it was pretty popular.
