Beautiful! I am so envious!

I planted a Bletilla last year in a border garden near the foundation of the house where it would be a little bit protected.,, but it hasn't reappeared yet I suspect that it didn't make it...

My B. striaiata bloomed in early spring, about two months ago. Now, the plant is going to have a summer rest.

Beautiful Bletilla! What are you growing conditions for this? Someone gave me a plant of this species in January and its grew about a 1.5 feet tall. Any tips?

FYI- Its got new sprouts coming out from the bulbs. Does it normally have several flushes of growth?

I bought some bletilla bulbs back in 1995 on vacation in tampa, planted them in my moms garden, and they still come up in a clump every spring They hate those late frosts though, need to be in a protected spot.
