Acanthephippium sylhetense & striatum
I have a crush for these seldom shown Asian terrestrials and their bizarre flowers. Both plants were acquired recently and I hope they like my greenhouse conditions.

I have my acanthephippiums planted in a mix of sand, stones, bark and 20 volume percent of mould for balcony flowers. It is basically the same as I used with good success for my eulophia guineensis.
I know that in nature they grow as terrestrials on the forest ground in rotten leaves.
The house is intermediate to warm, and there they stand under the bench in shade to medium light, protected from direct sunshine, where the climate is better balanced and humidity is higher.
During active growth they are kept more or less humid, and the mix holds the water longer than fir bark does.
The wintertime is more critical, they undergo a slight rest period.
I am still gathering experience in growing them.

Those are interesting. The sylhetense reminds me of a hermit crab
