Anyone know what genera this orchid is?
The "factsbook" called it the happiest orchid on earth, LOL! The name is on the tip of my tongue but just can't place it!! Help! LOL

Based on the shape of the flower, I'd say it is a Lycaste.

Looks like it is an Ophrys, commonly called the bee orchid. It could be any of these Ophrys apifera, Ophrys scolopax, Ophrys tenthredinifera and others. You may want to do a search and see which it most closely resembles.

Sorry to disagree with you, based on the pic you've posted the flower is held on an upright tall stalk with several flowers. Lycastes are born on short stalks held close to the foilage and there is only one flower per stalk. Please look at the link I posted again. I think you'll find that that is the proper genus for your orchid and the growth habit fits with what you've shown.

Just did a search for the "happiest orchid in the world" and it came up with the shot you've shown here and it's stated to be Ophrys apifera.

It's a terrestrial little orchid, very common in my country (southern Italy). They are absolutely protected and the collection in the wild is prohibited.
EDIT: together with the genre Orchis, which gave the name "Orchid", they have 2 small tubers that look like.. "orchis" from ancient greek orkhis mean testicule..
