Sorry I missed the thread and only discover it now.

First it's Vanilla dilloniana not dillonsonia. Dillon has been president of the AOS…

I have an aphylla for a few months doing good which is a leafless species from Asia..

Maybe the most important thing on leafless vanillas is to understand they live in much drier environments than the others in any of the 3 areas in the world where vanillas lost leaves as an adaptation to this situation. So it is important to let their pots dry before watering again. Which is quite different of most of the leafy ones, happily living with water at disposal when growing.

Now, you must have potted it by now, if not you should. Start them in sphagnum or directly in some mix for terrestrials. I use for my vanillas a mix of the BS we can buy for orchids in garden centers here, it kills phals, but it's fine for the terrestrials (it's mostly cocosomething with some bark). I add some more bark, perlite, cork, sphag, to make it lighter and with plenty to compost.

I'm VERY jealous you know?

They're putting out a few new roots, and the wetter one is pushing out some new growth.

One is in a terracotta pot, and one is in a plastic one. I water them at a specific dryness, so the terracotta one is getting more water than the plastic one since it dries faster.
