My Clowesia is starting to get a spike for the sping! (a little early for it but I just got a new light setup and I think the longer hours of light inspired it) It's only my second year with it flowering and I have totally forgotten how to start watering it. It's either when the spikes come, as the spikes end, or as the new pbulb starts.... But I'd like to get it right if anyone knows!

I used to water according to how the plants grow until I found out that going by plant growth will fool you into watering too soon or watering when you should've stopped watering a long time ago.

I would advise waiting for another month or month-and-a-half before you start watering heavily again.

What I recommended is how I'd do it, but I'm not certain what others will recommend.

for Clowesia, wait until a new growth is big enough to see a leaf and has 3 inches long roots!

Congratulations on the spike. I agree with the previous posts regarding watering. Although I don't have Rebecca Northern, I do have one of its parents, Clowesia rosea. I usually don't water it much at all until the new growths are fairly well along, long after it's done flowering. And then it only gets a light watering with lukewarm water. Once the weather warms up and the plant goes outside, I don't worry too much about getting water in the growths, and it gets drenched every one to two days.
