Pecteilis susannae
I've had this plant for at least 5-7 years. It first bloomed for me in 2010. Last year it only put forth a small vegetative leaf stalk. I thought that it would die, but this year there are two leaf stalks with one of them flowering. The evening fragrance is very powerful. It reminds me of a breath mint if that makes any sense. The first time it flowered the flowers lasted for only 3-4 days. Today is the first day the flowers were fully open. I'm curious about their longevity this time. The tallest stalk is 30 inches from the top of the pot.

Love it! My favourite colours! I'd never heard of this either and am very glad you posted!
Look forward to seeing how long your blooms last this time as well as how you grow it and your conditions.

Thank you.
I'll let you know when the flowers fade. I grow it like a southeast asian Habenaria: dry in the winter and moist in the summer. It only has leavs for about 4-6 months of the year. It seems to like warm summer temperatures and "cattleya" light.

As of taday, 07-22-2012, the flowers have faded. That's only 5 days total.
