Schoenorchis fragrans questions, lighting, rest period etc
I'm finding some conflicting informaion online about my schoenorchis fragrans. I was told by the grower to give it as much light as I can and give it a rest in the winter. I read that they have about the same light requirements as a phal and not to let it dry completely even during the rest period. I'd like to know how to care for it properly. I grow inside and have lighting setups for hight med and low light requirements. The plant is anchored to a small piece of a branch and I took a few very small strands of rockwool and slid them between the plant and the branch to retain a bit of moisture. The rockwool dries completely within about 8 hours so it's not always wet. The rockwool isn't really touching roots but it does make the bark on the branch damp for the day. I spray the plant in the morning and it wets the rockwool and by the early evening it's dry. The roots have green tips and show no signs of stress. I have had it set up like that for just over a week. I have it in medium light right now but I'm wondering if I should give it more like the grower said or less like I read online. For the winter rest I figured I would remove the rockwool and just spray the plant once a day to ensure it doesn't dry out too much. What do you guys think?
