Default Possible group order for Aussie terrestrials.

I'm considering putting forth another offer for a group order to purchase some Aussie terrestrial orchids this year.

Since October/November is right around the corner, I thought I'd put up the offer now.

Despite a few minor setbacks, I consider growing my first batch of Aussie native terrestrials a fairly good success (keeping in mind that I've never grown these prior).

If anyone is interested please let me know. The reason for the group order is for the high price of the phytosanitary paper and CITES certificate, along with the shipping costs for shipping from Australia.

If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I might get in on it again. I've had a little bit of success with the Thelymitras - no flowers yet, but the tubers seem to be multiplying. The Corybas I tried didn't make it, but I'd like to try some again.

I'm doing extremely well with the Diuris behrii. Both tuberoids made it. One of them is showing signs of multiple growths already.

I did lose one of the Thelymitra aff frenchii tuberoids, but the other one is still alive. I did mess up a little with this species, but it has not proven to be a very difficult one to grow.

Considering that Caladenia and Leptoceras were species that were not necessarily the easiest to grow, I don't really count this as a failure at all.

Wow...

I regret to inform anybody who had any kind of interest in purchasing native Australian terrestrial orchids from Australia, that there are no longer any possibilities of purchasing them through Australia indefinitely until the Australian government comes to their senses...

The prices of exportation have risen from $250 to over $1,000 per shipment.

The seller who provided me and a couple of other people with tuberoids is no longer in the business of exporting plants to other countries as a result.

In the meantime, if I'm able to source any places in Europe, I will repost at a later date.

Sorry.

You may have luck importing from Dr Beyrle in Germany. He has an extensive catalog of terrestrials available, including Australian species and hybrids. Check www.myorchids.de

I have tried contacting him once before, a few years ago. I am very well aware of his work in Germany. At the time, I did not receive a response from him.

But just to make sure, I did just now contact him. Thank you for the suggestion.
