Default Calanthe vestita, a little early this year.

My Calanthe vestita is blooming abit early for me this year, for years it has bloomed for Christmas and New Years, hope the flowers last.

WOW - great christmas flowers!!!

Yeah, my phaicalanthe is not that far away from blooming either. It usually blooms in mid to late January and is in bloom until just about time to take the orchids outside. I was shocked this year to see the bloom stalks so tall already myself. Must be the weather, lol...

Lovely! Yes, that certainly seems early to me. Up here in Canada, I don't expect to see flowers on mine before late February at least. At the moment it is still dormant.

Beautiful! You know what they say, Christmas comes earlier every year!

I have a deciduous Calanthe that I started from a broken bulb this summer. It still has 2 leaves on it. I think the bulb is just starting to mature, turning silvery. I guess mine tried to grow as much as possible because it's just a baby.
