Bletilla formosana
Bletilla formosana is a native orchid here in Taiwan. It is widespread that is able to be found at the elevation form sea level to 3000 meters highlands all over this island. It is semi-decideous. The plant shrinks in winter and trives in summer in response to the weather change.
It blooms in summer for about two months.

Beautiful! Do you grow it in your yard or in pots?

It is my yard plant, Joann. In wildland nearby, I have ever seen some wild plants.

The terminal blooms. This plant has bloomed for about two months. The single bloom lasts four days around.

Very nice indeed, I think people are sometimes too quick to overlook the terrestrial orchids.
