Default Unidentified Bahamian? Orchid

Please help identify
11 and 12 on my Picaso site, are of an orchid a friend gave me a couple of years ago. He rescued it from a large tree found floating east of the Bahamas after a hurricane in 2004. It has a slight fragrance.

There are also pictures of unidentified Cattleya that the hurricanes of 2005 blew the labels into the next county. If you can help with those too, it would be much appreciated.

Ron,

Great pics! Numbers 11 and 12 is the uncommon Encyclia rufa. I'd advise leaving the plant alone, it is hard to find and will hopefully populate the area with more plants!

Pat, Thank you so much. I will look up the Encyclia rufa and learn about this orchid.

Looks like an encyclia to me, but I don't know which species.

Thanx Pat, This was useful. When I brought one of my flowers in and compared it, the shape was the same but the petals on mine are pale yellow with no color or striations?

The species is slightly variable. I'll see if mine is still in bloom. That one is definitely Encyclia rufa, no doubt.

Thanx again Pat. I have made up a tag and it's a Encyclia rufa. As an added note. It's firmly attached itself to the south side of an oak tree in my yard. This is the second time it's bloomed.
