Default Sobralia callosa

This is my Sobralia callosa that bloomed today. I got 4 from Gaspar Silvera in Panama and this is the first to bloom, and only months after shipping bare root. I am amazed

It lasts but a day, still I hope when it is more mature, it will put on prolonged shows over many weeks with successive blooms.

I cant get the colour right in the picture. It is a deeper pink than this.

I have selfed it. Fingers crossed

Really nice, great looking plant as well, I wouldn't have realised it was an orchid without being told.

Very nice. I'd love to try sobralias, but I don't have the space for most of them. I love the flower color.

Here are some pics of my callosa ex-Japan. All growth, roots and no blooms at 20 months now. Ready to repot I guess. They do like moisture and hate to dry out. The Japan plants never get taller than 20cm, where as the Panama ones are 30cm
