Hi Judi,
You're correct, they do prefer cooler temps...the key is to keep the root zone cool. I do this by using the clay pot method; basically using sphagnum moss in a clay pot and placing the clay pot in stand water (rain water). Through evaporation the roots stay cool all day. It's been working so far. I initially thought about building an elaborate cooling table of some sort, but I figured I'd try the cheaper method first.
