broke another calanthe rosea bulb in half

2nd year in a row that i knocked a calanthe bulb and broke it in half

any chance of the upper portion rooting???

Yes, it will re-root.

Calanthe grows the way it does on purpose.

They do that so that in situations similar to yours, where the upper half of the pseudobulb breaks off, it can asexually grow into another one.
