Mesadenella is a genus of the orchid family (Orchidaceae).
It was proposed by Pabst and Garay in Archivos Botanic garden of Rio de Janeiro 12: 207-208, 1952, typified by Mesadenella Esmeraldaa (Linden & Rchb.f.) Garay & Pabst, first described as Spiranthes Esmeraldaa Linden & Rchb.f . in 1862, and that in reality is a synonym of Mesadenella cuspidata (Lindl.) [[Garay [[, first described as Spiranthes cuspidata Lindl .. The genus name means that it would be different but near Mesadenus, completing her, means small.
Less than ten species of this genus have been described.
They are terrestrial orchids, grasslands occasionally inhabiting the forests dark and damp, on humus, from sea level to 800 meters high, occurring in large continuous area from southern Mexico, extending into the heart of the Amazon, reaching the state Rio Grande do Sul.
These have fleshy roots, leaves petiolate, occasionally streaked with silver or reticulate dark green, arranged in a rosette. The inflorescence spike has many little showy flowers, whitish, arranged for all sides. The column of flowers is pubescent and has extended foot.
Those shown in the photos, according to records and sources of study, it is the Mesadenella cuspidata, but I have my doubts, which unfortunately due to lack of study material for this species, can not be remedied.
