Default Sauroglossum nitidum

Despite its vast geographical distribution (Colombia, Equador, Peru, Venezuela, Brazil) this is a terrestrial rarely seen in collections and shows. It thrives in the bed of decaying vegetal matter in humid, relatively dark places. Difficult to find when not in bloom.

Thanks Mauro. I love all of your pictures of your blooms and I learn so much about different species and hybrids that are new to me!

I grew up in the Philippines and lived in Thailand for several years but I'm just now learning about many of these S. American species.
