This is one of mine, my largest. All told, with the upgrow and downgrow and so on and accounting for all its branches, its probably over 30 ft. I don't really have a space problem to deal with, so I don't try to restrain it other than to direct it to where I want it to go. What I have found with vanilla orchids is that the more sun they get, the faster they grow. This vine gets no shade at all. Neither does my big variegated vanilla (which is about 20 ft or so). I have 3 others that have finally broken out of the understory and are starting to accelerate too. Its my personal opinion that many people do not give their vanillas enough light.

That's very interesting! I give mine only dappled bright light as I didn't realize they can take it brighter! I'll start introducing more light to them if it gets them to grow like yours!
Thanks

Okay...what I read about vanilla having to get to 15 ft before blooming seems to have been wrong...
Found 2 of these today!

Whoo hoo! Looks like the makings of a flower to me! Also, great tips for the twisting JP. I might have to get one and try it out.
