Default Spathoglottis

This is Spathoglottis parsonii x Java Beauty. Grown warm/int and under fairly high light. It needs to stay moist constantly being a terrestrial. Potted in a mix of fine CHC, perlite and promix. I will have more pictures coming soon as two of my other Spaths just popped spikes as well.

This pic is fairly accurate for colour. Very bright and fluorescent.

Yes, interesting and pretty - that's what I'd say also. I've never seen anything like it before.

Thanks! I first saw these growing as garden plants in Florida and have wanted one ever since. Now i have four. For anyone else who is interested in getting one I recommend Zephyrus Orchids. I got three of them from there. This one i got from my best buddy John M. here in Ontario... he owns Orchids Canada....not sure if he has any more or not.

Just a quick question about Spathoglottis, I have a noid that I just recieved bare rooted and want to pot right.

1. When potting how far do you bury the bulb?

fully is so far far below, 1/2 in soil and 1/2 above or should the bulb be above soil level?
