Some jewels - Updated pic 1/21/09
Hello all,
Here are two of my jewel orchids in bloom.
First, Ludisia discolor, one spike.
Second, a few of my Macodes petola are in bloom. I have three spikes.

How do you do it ?
I have the three color forms of Ludisa/Haemeria discolor, and they do well for me, but I've never been able to grow Macodes petola. Killed about 3 so far, I think.
Yours (both of the ones in this post) look great! Congrats on good growing.

Thanks for the compliments. I have found Macodes to be very easy to grow in terrariums. Have never tried them outside the terrarium though.

Macodes petola almost has to be grown in a terrarium. In terrarium conditions they explode, they just don't last long in regular house or (most) greenhouse conditions.
