Marilyn, do the tubes hold water? I just tried some swamp sticks that were mentioned on the OB. I mounted a lipotes and a blc. but these look so much more natural. Do they work on the same principle? Keep us posted with how the plants do as I think this would be a very interesting method to try. Thanks, Betty

Betty, I am not Marilyn, but here is my . I don't think the tubes hold water. repotme.com does make cork pots...maybe those will hold water? Maybe the best thing to do would be to contact them...I have been curious my self if the cork pots they sell have drainage holes.

Okay evil ones who make me buy things; I broke down and bought three cork tubes (they arrived today).

The cork tubes I purchased (from the eBay link I posted before) do have natural holes in them - either small "worm holes" or areas where the cork is really thin. (I didn't need to drill to wire my orchid to it.)

I put a bulbo division on one and will add a tilly when it arrives (eBay is like crack for me). I also plan on packing the tube(s) with moss and keeping them moist and ensure higher humidity (hey, I *am* in Utah).

Haven't decided what to put on the other tubes yet . . . maybe I'll just have to buy another orchid or two.

Marilyn,

The more I look at the tube I just planted, and at your pictures , the more I love them.

Thank you for the inspiration!!!
