Trichoceros muralis Male
Default Trichoceros muralis

Here is a first time bloomer that I got this in a trade this spring. The spike had 8-9 buds on it but my wife broke the spike and only one survived This plant is mounted on a piece of drift wood. It is grown warm and gets full morning sun then bright light the rest of the day. I water it daily in the summer and every other day in the winter.

Nice flower. A first for me. Why did your wife break the spike? I'm sure she didn't mean it..... did she?

This one sure has an interestingly formed flower! I like these kinds of out of the ordinary orchids. Glad to see that you have so many plants in bloom now (saw your other threads), it must be very nice to be in your house!

No Ross it was an accident....she felt bad but I knew it was an accident so I was not upset (well at least not at her)

I over winter my warmer growers in my bathroom and somehow (still trying to figure out how) she bumped it and snapped the spike.

This is so cute - I've been meaning to try trichocerus for a while...I'm guessing this plant is pretty small. Any whole plant s? Too bad about the spike, but there's always next time

Sorry Calvin I did not take a whole plant shot this time. If I can remember the next time I have the camrea setup out I will try ot get one for you (the flower that is left is fading so if I get one it will be of just the vegetative growth).

She's really cute Tom. The pink color makes her look sorta elegant to me.
