Default Pterostylis erecta and acuminata

Here are some photos of some local Pterostylis species. The erecta i have growing in a pot. The acuminata photo was taken in situ. I found a large colony while taking the dogs for a walk a week or so back through the forest. I hope you all enjoy them.

Super little guys. I love the 'wild' pic especially.

flowers are only about 2 centimetres long. Not as large as the Pterostylis baptistii which is the largest flowered species found in my area. I often locate the smaller flowered species by the leaf rosettes rather than the flowers. Hopefully i can find some other species this year in situ.

peace

Nice! It must be difficult keeping it alive in artificial cultivation, right?

they are in fact quite easy provided you give them a resting period when they go dormant and understand the way they grow. Most of the colony forming ones such as those pictured will readily increase in number in pot yearly (producing many new tubers) and quickly fill up a pot.
